I start moaning like Tom Waits
When you’re in a recording session you try to control every detail even though you want to keep your mind on the performance. But as a musician/engineer one-man-show you can’t help thinking about levels, sounds and your neighbour’s V8 car starting in the middle of the recording. On the other hand while focusing on the previous mentioned parameters you forget to control your own moaning during the performance. But that’s a minor problem that helps to add some Tom Waits flavours to distinguish your recording from a more and more sterile A.I. produced hit.

By the way, I experienced Bon Jovi a long time a go on a very windy and cold day in a football stadium in Berne, Switzerland. We were so far back freezing our butts off that when Tico Torres hit the snare drum it took like half a second until we actually heard it. What an out of sync experience!
