Do you remember John Cusack with the ghetto blaster?

For some of us this song is forever connected with the 1989’s film - Say Anything… - with John Cusack standing in front of her house holding up the ghetto blaster playing Peter Gabriel’s - In Your Eyes - Apple Music | YouTube Music but I can’t remember ever seeing the film. I’ve only seen the clip countless times quoting that movie. I simply loved the songs and sounds on Peter Gabriel’s epic album - So.

Weird detail: I never was a big fan of MTV even though the Sledgehammer video took music videos to the next level.

I rather enjoy music with great headphones or speakers and create my own visuals in my mind instead of screwing up a song by its video.

I saw Peter Gabriel touring with his then new album - Up - in Zurich, Switzerland somewhere in 2003/2004. Epic live show!

Substack Sessions SS0015 - In Your Eyes

Interestingly enough my version from my ‘Start Your Day With A Song’-series on my YouTube channel is rhythmically more where I like it to be with this Peter Gabriel classic than on my Substack Sessions version even though my guitar was slightly out of tune. But that’s part of #livemusic. Last Sunday I performed this song at Giessen - Hotel & Coffeehouse in the key of E minor and it changed the entire feel of the song into a different kind of animal. Never mind the stompin’! ;o)
