2024 - Challenge Accepted
New year, new challenges and skip or better stop old year bad habits. In the last two weeks of 2023 I had a great time playing my gigs and my first two weeks of 2024 kicked off rather wonderfully.
Disclaimer: I took the liberty to put some of you on my newsletter list because we know each other or we collaborated before or I had the privilege of performing at an event for you. I hope you enjoy my updates - thank you!

It don’t mean a thing if you ain’t got that algo-rhythm
The YouTube algo-rhythm told me after the last four weeks that I apparently didn't post enough content and so I'm not worthy of more views. You could literally see how the average number shrunk to a few hundred. So next holiday season I’ll pre-produce a couple videos and schedule the posts to help me through busy gig weeks but also through a family first time without losing momentum.
Lately many YouTubers with millions of subscribers quit YouTube because of various reasons but mostly because apparently the stress levels are beyond and reached new heights.
But I can’t complain, because in 2023 I had more than 125’000 views on my YouTube channel and more than doubled the number of subscribers to almost 800.
You’ll probably remember my last Substack post, where I showed you my 2023 Spotify stats in #spotifywrapped with almost 70’000 streams on Spotify and now I checked all the streams from all the digital platforms and I was surprised to find out that Spotify was just ⅔ of the overall number of over 105’000 streams.
Thank you very much for listening and in 2024 there’s more to come.
My Substack Starters
In this section I exclusively release sounds and tales on Substack from my artistic life. I hope it will grow organically and improve with every new edition.
This section is still not where I want it to be. But bear with me I got some ideas coming up.
What do you think about livestreams and podcasts? Nowadays everybody and his cousin are producing them. But I’m only able to listen to them while I’m on the road. They are great to keep me awake at the wheel. When and where are you listening to podcasts?
My YouTube Channel Views
Here are the songs from my repertoire released on my YouTube channel playlist ‘Start Your Day With A Song’
So far, I uploaded in January following three songs from my repertoire - enjoy!
On my Youtube channel you can also view ‘shorts’ videos, where I post raw clips of daily encounters and old concert footage that are quite hilarious when you see them again after a long time
ClickASnap Picture Book
In this section I feature a picture from my ClickASnap photo gallery and the corresponding story
After investing so much time in uploading and cataloging almost 500 photos on ClickASnap I paused my activities because the new software update and the new online shop (Merchr) contain so many bugs and other problems on the website that I wait until I see a light at the end of this tunnel.
But my phone is full of photos. Here’s a picture I took in Steg, Liechtenstein
Spotify Song Section
Songs from my Spotify playlist ‘My Songs & Stories’
I liked this classic Gorillaz track from 2005 from the moment I heard it for the first time. The groove and the bass line are instant classics, but it took almost 20 years until I added it to my repertoire. My problem was that catchy De La Soul rap. I ain’t no rapper but I found a solution that works for me. What do you think? My version!
